so i was thinking last night while browsing some forums about an option to have your character become an NPC when you log off. you would set a route in a city or other such location and maybe even have some dialog so players could talk to you. As soon as you logged off your character would teleport to were you designated and follow the path. There would probly have to be a limit on the number of NPC characters like (300 per server?) to keep lag down. This would be a great feature to include because it would make towns feel more alive when you see your best friend drunk in a local tavern. And it would make it so the towns arent ghost towns. As soon as you log in your character is teleported back to were you left off so that the feature cant be used for exploiting.

Given the speed of technological advancement, server's SHOULD be able to handle something of this nature. Though, while it would be nice, it may interfere with some of our behind the scenes features that we havent talked about yet.
We'll surely take it into consideration though. :)

Very good point thats the problem with World of Warcraft the towns arent "alive" okay the main city on populated servers are from 10 am till 12 pm but if your on a non-populated server then there is hardly anyone there :'(
