I think the time has come to get a couple of new mods into the mixer.

Moloch is great (extra brownie points for me) but he isnt the most active of people.

And im sure plenty of people here would volunteer to moderate, and be very good at it. So there no need to go an employ some1.

But basically, theres obviously been a sudden influx of users, and we need some more governors.

my mistake there. Because seeing as a load of people joined on mykaoswar, i thought that the forums would then see a load of people.

But once again the lack of connection between ning and kaoswar is bringing the kaos war user base down.

Couldnt damon just remove all sections from the ning forums, and replace it with one which links to these forums?

yea its kinda wierd cuz while these fourms were down everyone went to kaoswars community and dont know a thing about this one and the old posters here dont know that this is back up

and around 1 in 20 users on ning, dont have an account on these forums.

and i bet most of those 20 have no idea that these forums exist, and they dont even know about kaoswar.com

I mean, it was all fine and dandy before now, because it was quite a tight knit community. But now, we really need a bridge between ning and kaos, seeing as we've had 50 odd more user join on ning in a few days after TC... and none on these forums.

lol, ill sign up for that. Maybe a thread on the ning forums which we continuously bump called "dont use these forums, use kaoswar.com/forums/!!!"

but still something needs to be done by the kaos team, its just too crappy. I would have expected something to be done, as when i tested this, the only problem i had was was how it would be intergrated. Its just been slapped on, and now that more players are coming its a big problem.

Well that kind of brings up a point:
If SRI wants to get feedback and ideas from the game on a constant basis, they need some system to handle that.

Ning is NOT it
This Forum would have to be streamlined for it. However, I think this forum would be the logical place to discuss ideas as we already have.
Perhaps just another module that allows people to submit a bug or suggestion by filling out a form. Then the ideas come to you in understandable format, any that seem promising you can post to a "possible ideas" section and allow other users to feedback on it.

But if you made this area the main location for sharing suggestions/complaints, then people would have to come here to share, or else not share at all.

When i was testing ning, and i queried about intergration. He said that it would be used for player pages, which would have been great. But seeing as ning is restricted, its impossible.

The idea of a MMO social network is a great idea, that would work, and would really make a brilliant community around the game and think about the potential of it. It could be used to set up clans and guilds (thinking along the lines of ning, groups and events) and it would be so much more easier to take part in raids and socialise with people ingame. If you think about it, thats what makes WoW so special, the masses of players makes it inevitable that you'll have friends ingame.

But the problem of restrictivity, is a problem which needs to be adressed now.

Im not sure what Damon can do, but Ning is clearly not the way forward. During a kaostv broadcast said that he knew about the problem, but thought it would take too long to build one from the ground up. So that options ruled out. But things have changed, with their "agile development" plan, and their debut at TC50, Users will soon be rolling in, the 50 that have come via ning is just a taste. We'll most likely see a Kaos War beta early 2009 if they stick to their agile development plan. So even more users will come.

Its really quite a big problem. and it needs to be dealt with

Doing all we can to deal with it. We are working it out. Just got extremely extremely busy right after TC50. Also posted for MODS in the general section.

I posted in the other forum and would love to mod here. I'm on all the time and can monitor things all day long.

The only thing we need in the forum is 1 Forum moderator who might answer on questions, or help people with their problems.
For the rest we just need developers and game-testers i suppose..
and please do not overrun moderators to much aswell. Makes they life easier too.

WOW what a sig! LOL! Actually going to bring one of you guys into the fold for the new mykaoswar.com site. Its really sweet and best of all its our own! Built in much better programming language and allows us to make changes extremely fast.
