So I was thinking about the previous post and the "Closing the Gap" between Player and Target from a range and was thinking of a Blur-Strike type ability that as you level, or it is level'd by use, the distance closed and the damage dealt due to the increased velocity would increase.

How this would work is. Highlight the target from a distance, click your [BlurStrike] button/hotkey and you streak across the screen and distance of said target doing a quick strike and appear maybe 1-2 feet on their opposite side.

The Effect would be a good way to quickly close the gap. The visual could be done several ways including image blur duplication with fade, or it could be done by simple particle shadows trailing behind and drawn back into the target.

(Just think of an anime when the swordsman goes to strike their target, the blade wips out of it's sheath menacingly and the screen goes white for a second, then you see the swordman behind the target, blade fully extended and the opponent dropping to the group clutching their chest)

Which now that I think about it, those same particles within the character model could be used in any number of ways such as a Contrail while in flight that disipate (return to the target) over time or power up glows, etc...

Anyway, just thought I'd give a suggestion.

You have put some good thought into this one. I can tell you that we do have an ability relatively similar to this but it wont be a widely granted ability. With our system and the way it is designed there will be different and varying degrees of how this particular ability will occur. I am starving to give you more information but am unable to at this point because of obvious reasons.

Understood, keep up the good work everybody. Looking forward to your tech demo however try not to overwork yourself. I just pulled 3 16hr shifts at my job this week and I'm utterly burnt out. I can't imagine doing that every day like you peeps.
