How will melee combat be fought?

Melee combat can be fought both ways. I feel the majority of players will feel more comfortable using 3rd person, as you can have better depth perception in regards to enemy locations and those incoming. Some abilities will require to be in specific positions which would prove harder to do in first person.

Wouldn't that be 1st person-ish? Is there even such thing as a second person view in a video game. I cant' think of any games that aren't 1st or 3rd.

Technically, there is no such thing as a 2nd person view. If you wanted to pick one though, I nominate the camera from resident evil 4. Excellent viewing angle in my opinion.

I think of it as 1st person is out of the eyes 3rd is w/e it is.. Floating Camara of Doom or something and 2nd is from Someone elses eyes. idk..kinda of confusing!

2nd person veiw would be viewing it from your targets perspective. You would be in the eyes of the mob, and see you come running towards them ready to deal out unholy damage.

3rd person is because it is from a neutral point, neither the you nor the target.

So is this game going to be where if you actually make contact with the monster, you do damage? I hate playing a game where you can watch your sword go through the monster, than it comes back saying "Miss"

2nd person PoV is when the narrator calls the character "You", versus "I" (1st) or "He/She" (3rd). I can't imagine it's easy to do, and can't think right offhand what would work as a camera view for it. My first instinct is through the eyes of another player, which would be interesting, to say the least.

Yeah, 2nd person PoV only really works for certain spells where it allows you to see the world through the eyes of your target. Than it would really just be 1st person view of someone else. IDK, just my opinion.

Take a knife or fork and go outside and try to kill a butterfly. They don't attack back but they have a high evasion rate so it should keep you busy and possibly stop you from spamming the forums anymore.
