Lots of people hate anime or don't like it for some reason or another. Alot of people, though, don't like it because of some anime like Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, or like... Sailor Moon. The thing that makes me interested in anime is that there are some shows out there that are really deep. They make you think intensely on the subject matter and also provide an interesting story with amazing action bits to boot. Some anime can be really engrossing and invoke alot of emotions within you ranging from exhilaration to anger to sadness. Heck, I know a few people who only like one or two anime for those exact reasons.

It's all about individual taste. Ya know?

I agree, I just finished watching Rozen Maiden which was cute and deep at times. One series that I love to watch is the Angelic Layer, that show is so awesome and has such a compelling depth to overcoming odds I just love it.

Ya there is only a few anime I really enjoy. Samurai X Awesome. Naruto pure owns (except for fillers), Cowboy Beebop just too cool, and now Bleach. But what is depressing sometimes is you are really into a story arch, best you have ever seen. Then it just bombs from there. Like the first story Arch in Bleach owns, but this bounto part just doesn't do it for me. Anyone else feel the same?

Oh Most definitely. The same thing happened with the Rurouni Kenshin series. Awesome through the first plot, then just h-bombed after that.

Well, i love anime so much, that i will recommend these 2. they just starting out but in my opinion are doing pretty good. .Hack//Roots is at about episode 12 and is actually pretty cool (ive watched up to episode 6). The other is an anime called Kiba. I recommend this one.

I never really liked anime until about 2 years ago. It used to kinda weird me out. While playing SWG late at night I found an incredible thing called adult swim. I mostly started watching it for Family Guy and Futurama but then it used to upset me when anime would come on. I would be too lazy to turn the channel (and I would only be half paying attention anyway) but then for some reason I started paying more and more attention to the anime. I ended up REALLY getting into Full Metal Alchemist, and a bit into Trigun. Eventhough I watched a lot of Inuyasha I never really liked it much. After paying full attention to Ghost in the Shell I finally started to understand wtf was going on after a few weeks lol. Lately I've been paying attention to Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent. FMA is still my fav though.

I'm really into anime. I watch a lot of different shows. I like Naruto a lot, but my fave is really Inuyasha. I don't really know why that is. FMA is really awesome too. Ocassionally I'll watch Fruits Basket or Bleach. I draw a little anime as well.

Yeah the Japanese versions are the best. Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are pretty good too.

If you want a ongoing (though almost over finally) anime that's incredible and has a plot, try Blood+. I promise it won't disappoint.

Mushishi

Mushihi is over (one episode left to be subbed) and Blood+ is quickly spiralling to a conclusion.

That fight scene on bleach was nice, but there's an even better one once he perfects his Bankai ;).

One other anime that is pretty good and kinda makes you think a bit is Noein, I recommned it to anyone.

I am currently watching Night Head Genesis, Kyou Kara Maou, Black Blood Brothers, and Kiba. Night Head Genesis is insanely good. Its a psychological mystery kinda supernatural theme. Its insanely great and is just..wow. Kiba is a fantasy supernatural theme and I enjoy it. Black Blood Brothers is like a Hellsing kinda thing and I like it, its different. Just saw the first episode today and I plan on keep watching it. Here is where i get my anime besides youtube since the details on youtube ain't great.

I suggest you reconsider that statement, Bleach is far from predictable especially when you hit episodes 30 through 60. Bleach has one of the best actions I have ever seen in any anime ( I guess I didn't see that many), and it also has it's twists and turns. First few episodes are not gona be great but you have to watch further on to see Bleach at its best.

Cady! I'm thrilled to hear that you got into NHG. Episode 8 came out yesterday and I got a new book yesterday and sadly, Yes I am a reader! Please don't be surprised! Well I get compulsive when I get a new book and if I like it. I coudlnt' put it down.. Bu ti just finished it like 20 mins ago, good book, called Twilight. BUT ANYWAYS, back to anime. NHG 8 came out and I am currently int he process of direct downloading it. It is insane in the membrane ;D . You should check out Fate Stay Night afterwards as well, insane anime as well. Wierd, but insane. I'm so excited NHG 8 is out!

I love to read. I'm also an aspiring writer. So it's a pleasant surprise that you read! ;D I watched episode 8 of NHG. I should definitely look into anime rehab centers...LOL.

Gundam (All of them) - They give a visual representation of what robotics can be.

Naruto, Samurai 7, Ghost in the Shell, Eureka, Robotech, Blood Trinity, Bleach, Vampire Hunter D, Full Metal Alchemist, Berzerk, Blue Gender, Desert Punk, Last Exile, Akira, pretty much everything anime. Anime is great because it does everything that "life" movies/shows cant, they have great art and have some insane storylines, and cost less to produce.

Had to catch up on Bleach too. Thank god they finally ended the Bounto story arch literally hated every episode with them in it. Now its getting good with the Half-Hollows.

What's the basic storyline of Bleach?

Kinda complex for Bleach. There is the real world and then a place called Soul Society where your soul goes when you die. There are evil monsters that stalk souls in the real world called Hollows. The main character is a Shinigami (means death god) that fights the hollows and sends spirits back to Soul Society. That is it in a nut shell. You follow the story of Ichigo a human with unreal spirit power that whoops basically all the bad asses of Hollows and Soul Society. Kenpachi is my favorite he just reeks elite.

I just started reading bleach after I saw it come on Adult swim, my friend has 3 of the Manga's and I am going to start reading all of them. So far the first one was awesome, and I am looking forward to reading the rest. Too bad I don't have the time to watch the show at night though.

Bleach is kicking butt, I can't wait, ICHIGO finally mastering his Hollow Within.

My Favorite part of Bleach so far is when Ichigo is rescueing Rukia from the execution grounds. The 3 LT's trying to stop Renji and Rukia, Ichigo goes hand to hand postal on them. He was so strong that he didn't need his Zanpakuto Zangetsu. I was like "FTW, OMG, WTH, Pure Ownage" with hype. Soon after though (like 2.5 seconds) that rush dissappeared since he really hasn't done anything that sweet again, always with Zangetsu now.

Ichigo is becoming the Ultimate Shinigami Vizard (even Yamamoto-Genryūsai, the General, is going to be beaten pretty bad, so I hope) and will more than likely learn a "bankai" -ish form with the Hollow Mask.

Kenpachi hopefully learns to atleast use his Shikai, that would be a pretty cool sight.

The Vizard were once Shinigami (Death Gods) but went to Hueco Mundo and obtained Hollow Powers, Ichigo is different in that he died to attain his (so, he will more than likely have better powers).

The Vizard use the underground training facility because, they know how to make one, its not Uraharas facility, looks the same, but its the Vizards.

I hope Ichigo can use his Hollow, and then Super Bankai past his Bankai Hollow form, so he become more powerful than the Captain Commander. FTW.

Oh, and I might just tip you of to a really good anime serie, it's called GTO (Great Teacher Onisuka) for you guys who havn't seen it, it's extremely funny, altough it's kinda old :). It's about this guy who used to be like a leader for one of the strongest gangs in Japan, and now he wants to become a teacher and he gets to take care of these really troubled classes. This comedy anime is the funniest i've ever seen, felt like I never stopped laughing.

I do like bleach as well, but recently i havent been all to interested with the half filler/ half non filler episodes and such.

What I really enjoy now is Romeo x Juliet, it is a really nice adaption with new twists and things to keep the story fresh, and i honestly can't tell how it'll end up anymore.

i recently watched Fate/Stay night, and i love that anime, as well as Lucky Star. A new anime i've been watching as well is Baccano, which is very interesting, alchemists in the old times with speakeasy mafia's and such. really cool.

Fate/Stay night's story blows. And i'll agree with ToN, Death Note and Claymore are both really good anime's.

Death Note is probably one of the best ones out there, and just how they animated it, perfect.

My absolute favorite is CardCaptors, the series was a masterpiece and i love every bit of it, its just plain and utterly brilliant. The problem is though, that in the UK you dont get alot of anime so...

personally the only anime i ever got into was "Escaflowne". if you want to check it out the full chapter section is on google just type it in, its basically a "dragon, samurai mech" type. its good atleast check it out :).

Full metal Alchemist was a great series for me and never got repetitive. Death note was weird. You gotta watch it to understand, though.

I have watched tons of anime (literally tons, 2000+) over the last year. Season's upon season's, series after series. When I am off work, I am watching anime, when I am working, I watch anime. Its a viscious cycle.

Anime is pretty cool I will admit, and agree with alot of the ones said already. Especially FMA, and Ghost in the Shell. I also really like Outlaw Star and Gun x Sword (which they made 26 eps for and finished right when it got really good :mad:). Also, just for pure randomness and confusion factor, FLCL. 6 eps of insanity.
Oh yeah, also got all the Samurai X OVAs, and the movie, and all of Rurouni Kenshin.
Damon, if you do/have started watching FMA (full metal alchemist) Be sure to try and watch the movie after everything too, The Conqueror of Shamballa.
I could say so much more, but I've said more than enough already, so I'll shush. ^^;

Ah, FMA is awesome. And yeah, alot of people didn't like that ending. I liked it though, it's abit different then usual endings ;D.

I heard something about them making a new FMA series, not sure if it will be a remake of the original, making it more like the manga, or if they will continue where they left off.

This is one of those shows you'd have to watch to understand the criticism. Just watch the first and last episodes. I'm sure it's on the internet somewhere.
