There was a topic on the previous Kaos War forums, then the switch to the newer forums deleted it. I completely forgot the answer to the question. How will you balance FPS nerds vs MMO nerds? In FPS, while getting headshots takes some skill, it comes easily to people who play UT or CS a lot. But in MMOs, casting a spell onto an opponent is based on chance, like critical strikes and resists. How will you balance the people who can get headshots fairly easily, versus MMO players who will have to hope their spells will hit the person and the enemy will not resist?

PS: hope you guys understood what i asked. im reading it over and i think i got lost reading my own post. >.>

During the past few weeks, the vision of the gameplay has evolved in such a way to allow balance between both styles of play. Though I could explain it in more detail, I would rather redirect the question to Damon. :-p

First off let me say this is one of the best questions you can ask. We have made it so an experienced MMO player will feel right at home when starting the game, fluid controls, familiar user interface, Paper Doll, abilities, skills and resistances. What will be new to them is free form of combat. Your skill with a weapon will determine its damage and it is dished out in even numbers, there is no guess work. For FPS players this makes sense, what I hit takes the damage. This combat is like real life, so much in fact that if you miss you miss, there may not be second chances for you. Get your guard up or your life ends. In short you can say that combat will be familiar to FPS players, and MMO players it takes the best of both worlds and combines them into above all a super fun style of gameplay. We want you on the edges of your seat when it comes to combat, that your skill not as an FPS player but a gamer will come into play, and be the central force behind your character.

Since I'm on a little posting spree tonite I'll be dropping in some responses here and there!

As far as this question goes, I'd like to point out that certain gear and certain skills put more stress onto FPS skills (precision guns) and others place more of a focus onto tactical descisions (heavy weapons/spells, called powers btw.) or even close combat skills requireing a form of less aim related action/reaction combat (melee weapons). This means that you can customize your character to fit your playstyle. If you like to be the sniper on the battlefield, we give you that opportunity. However, just having a great aim won't not be enough to beat an equaly tacticaly skilled caster or a close combat player with amazing "beat em up" reflexes!

What Loren said above pretty much sums it up. All characters are capable of conforming to your very own playstyle.I know this doesnt help much right at this moment simply because we are unable to reveal the current skill trees and titles.
