OMG, have you guys played this game?!?!?! It's freakin' awesome. Graphics are great, you can chainsaw people in half, the AI is smart, you can crush peoples' head with a curb stomp if you knock them down to their knees, and it's just overall amazing. It's pretty gory, but that make this game even better.
If you know someone with a 360 you need to go to their house and play it. If they don't already have it they need to get it.

I bought it last week but was only just now able to open it. Very good game so far, though it takes a little getting used to the controls and use of cover. Is there a save feature, or does it just save your checkpoints? I couldnt find one in the menu structure.
Next purchase will most likely be Phantasy Star Online, even if I don't have much time for playing games right now :D

It automatically saves when you get a checkpoint. The only bad thing is that if you don't want to start from where you left off you have to start from the beginning. I already beat it and unlocked the insane difficulty. Haven't tried that yet though. The online play is awesome; it's so fun to go up to unsuspecting players and chainsaw them in half or tag them with a grenade then roll out of the way to watch the fireworks.
Phantasy Star... I played the online beta test that they put out for that week or however long it was and found it to be fun but I don't know if I'd pay $10/month to play it. It's a good game though.

Whoah, Whoah, whoah... Phantasy Star has a monthly fee? Does it have a single player, offline mode at all? I vaguely remember the last game having a monthly fee, but I just never went online with it (or didnt play past the free days or whatever). Monthly fee on a console game is just out of the question, unless it has an online game world comparable to an MMO. I guess I'll be holding off on buying that one.
In Gears of War, does your health reset at each checkpoint? It seemed like it did.

yeah i was sick on the release day ;)
I played it for hours and it is SUPER FUN. the campaign was a bit short but the cliffhanger was interesting. All the blood and gore is one of my favorite parts of the game

Ya Phantasy Star has a $10/month fee. And yes, the last one did have an offline mode so you didn't have to pay, but I think this one is different. Not sure about an offline mode for this one.
And in Gears of War your health regenerates when you aren't taking damage. That's what cover is for, so don't poke your head out to long or it'll be gone.
