OMG! When I saw the title of that, it and you saying historical event made me think of that battle. That is so cool. It angers me that they haven't made any good movies about the true spartans and that battle yet. I did 10 page report on it in high school, and loved every second of it.

When I got to school this morning I went to the library to print something up on a computer and there were kids watching the trailer.

Now, for a good Red Baron movie, best pilot ever. Manfred von Richtofen (Red Baron) and brother Alfred von Richtofen shot down 120 planes together. The Number is debated because the scores may very on the Allied and Axis records. Their cousin Wolfram shot down 8 before crashing and dieing in a POW camp in WWII. Thats 128 Kills for a family, 80 for Manfred, 40 to Alfred, and 8 for Wolfram. Not bad for flying wooden planes with pea shooters. The Death of the Red Baron is also debatable because a Canadian Ace "Arthur "Roy" Brown" and Australian gunners both shot at the red baron, but weapons used the same caliber and is impossible to identify because none of the guns excist today. He painted his plane red becuase he wanted to be seen, he didn't want to run from a fight, he wanted the fight to come to him. He was the best pilot of his era, and probably the best combat strategist to live. He helped develop the Dreidecker because the wings of his other planes would fall off, the triplane would be more agile than previous planes. British Troops buried Manfred with full military honors, who wouldn't.

Man, I heard about this becomming a movie a several months ago and hadn't heard anything since. Now the trailer is freakin awesome and I can't wait. I love how a lot of comics and graphic novels are being made into movies. Most of them are put together very well and don't give the comic a bad name. This one is going to be sweet!


EDIT: I almost forgot, it's Frank Miller! Sin City was freaking awesome and he is just a genius when it comes to storytelling.

Okay, now I've atleast watched the trailer to the movie and I've changed my opinion. I think the movie looks great, its like Gladiator, same nature and such. I love Gladiator, so i guess I gonna like this movie too. Maybe some troy thingy in it too, that's a great movie too.

This movie is definately one I'll be seeing. I went to see Blood Diamond tonight; good movie and it shows how crazy the civil wars are over in Africa. Yeah every time I watch a trailer for this I get chills and am almost brought to tears by the power of the cinematography and the use of Nine Inch Nails music in the backround (Favorite band of all time). I've been in love with the story of Thermopylae for a long time and am a HUGE fan of Frank Miller's work, im positive once I see this it will become my favorite movie ever.

Myspace had this thing with Black Curtian Promotions. They showed it on only 3 screens in the world. IMAX Sony Metreon San Francisco, Chicago and Vancouver.
We waited in line for about 6 hours was near the front. The wait was SOOO worth it in every regard. They also gave out 10 signed art books at each theater, we didn't win one =( If you don't see this on IMAX you will be robbed.

I went outside and told the manager that they wouldn't get off the phones, so he went in and just stayed behind the retaining wall, he said "sorry for the noise" and had security remove them from the theatre, they didn't have tickets.

I laughed my butt off. I now only go really early or really late so there arn't stupid people there.

Just saw 300. Almost the best best movie I've ever seen. The story was amazingly glorious and I had a lot of chills up my spine. The camera angles and the slo-mo and the blood and the lighting was orgasmic!

The only movie(s) that it is second to is LOTR because I'm too big a nerd to ever like anything more than that.

ZOMG!! I just got back from seeing this amazing movie. I didn't get the chance to see it in IMAX simply because it was sort of a last minute grouping up of me and about a handful of my friends. Still, it was an awesome movie.

watched this movie first day it released in NY. Its a great movie for those who like 100%action brutality and killing. After watching it just makes you want to head out to a gym and get a 6 pack toned body and go kill people. But the movie has its bad points such as poor CGI display which is kind of an opinion thing since some feel it matches with the time period and another thing is the constant 3rd person speaking trying to give more in depth info to the audience. But w/e its a great movie, you should all go watch it.

300 Spartans killed about 10,000 - 15,000 Persians. History didn't keep that accurate of records.

Thats 33 - 50 kills each.
Now imagine having the entire 9,000 Spartan Army walking in there.

9,000 x 33 = 297,000 (history says that the numbers were more 100,000 - 500,000) so they alone would have kicked the persian armies butt. After 100,000 dead people are lined up on your side of the battle field, moral sucks.

9,000 x 50 = 450,000 (See, they still could have killed most of the persians.

Spartans = kick butt Special Forces of there day.

Anyone going to see 300 for a second time? I am, I going atleast 3 more times.

Actually there are pretty good records of the battle, including the fact that the Spartans had about 6 500 allies there. The various Arcadians were probably the largest force on the Spartan side having over 1 100 troops there. The 300 Spartans were Leonidas' personal guard.

The Persian army is rumored at 1-2 million based on sight. So, if you actually look down at 100,000 - 500,000 it may look like 1 - 2 million. Human eyes are bigger than what they are. We see what we want to see.

Either way, the Spartans Would KICK PERSIAN BOOTY!!!!
