Well somebody finally did it, and I totally expected it to happen like most everyone in the world. Good for the Youtube guys. You know I see some similarities between us and the Youtube guys. Passionate, dedicated to the community and always looking to improve. Everyone downed on them in the beginning but they didn't listen to the skeptics and they turned right toward the world and said hey here is our idea and hope you think it is awesome. It is too.

I find myself looking for music on youtube? long lost anime episodes? I can find it all even our Creating Kaos Documentary and Tech demo is on Youtube. Can they truly be the merge media stream we have all been looking for? Google is betting big, but this just goes to show you how much Silicon Valley is alive and driving innovation in the world. SRI will be here too, we are dedicated to driving innovation through passion and free expression of ideas.

It's a good thing that google bought them....now expect within a year for them to be mired in copyright infringement lawsuits, and I wouldnt be suprised to see them in a defamtion of character civil suit ala the starwars kid.

The debate will get heated for sure. Google is smart though. Taking steps to insure they obtain rights from the major studios might hedge against the lesser studios. They will be in court at some time over copyright infringements. Now that companies can go after Google cash. I think they can pull it off to be honest. I am just super optimistic as always. =)
I've been down to Google offices in Mountain View (ya they own most of the city) The whole city of Mountain View gets FREE wifi. How cool is that. Imagine playing Kaos War outside a coffee shop sipping expresso while having a complete fun time with your friends from all over the world. Oh I do dream big =)

Hey, I don't havea cell phone either but I'm only 14 now. That really doesn't matter though because almost all other kids have a cell phone. I just don't see the need for one so I'm not putting my cash into one.

I have a cell phone for 2 reasons:

1. Family Emergencies
2. Job

I don't use my phone much for personal use.

1.65 Billion Dollars, how about .05% to SRI. lol.

Google buys SRI for 1.65Billion. My that would be an interesting proposition.

Yeah....pop ads when logging in and entering cities. Sponsored encounters...This instance of Xamaen brought to you by Victoria's Secret. This is waht I expect to happen with YouTube when google takes over. I have been getting a bad taste for google since they went public with their sponsored search results and they have skewed their search results anymore due to corporate sponsorships.

Chewy: I'm 36 and work in the IT industry..I work with a bunch of geeks. :) So it is kinda expected that I have a cell phone.

Ya I'm kind of intrigued at how things will be handled now by google as well. I also hat the advertising stuff also. I looked up a certain south park episode to see if I could watch it instead of waiting a day for the re-run.

All I got was a bunch of episodes that said they were 22 minutes long and at the bottom of the description said "buy for 2.99 at www.comedycentral.com" so I clicked the video anyway and just as I thought it was 2 minutes long not the 22 as advertised.

I finally bought a cell phone at 34 and why? (I always said never) I was suppose to go see my GF's parents and they lived about a 100 miles away out in the middle of no where. Well I was sick so I couldn't go. My car broke down later in the week and I was told lucky I didn't take any long trips or I would have had to call a tow truck. That being said it snows ALOT where I live and I would have been screwed going to her parents house. Sure in the military I learned survival stuff and all not that I can't do it in a pinch more like I don't want to do it if I don't have to so that weekend said hello to Mr. Cell phone. Now everyone hates me because I never answer it and stated it's only for emergencies not personal calls.

yeah, I been thinking of getting one of the tracfones....where youpay for the minutes and it's good til you use them. Figure I buy 30 mins and throw it in the trunk. But the small print has an expiration date on the one I looked at...so F'that.

I never had a cell phone until I started SRI. But after that I would be lost without it. I havent jumped to a Blackberry yet, but probably soon. Always on the go recently.

You went that long without a cell phone?!?!. That's pretty amazing. Most people nowadays get one when they're about 12.

as a former Blackberry user, THEY SUCK. They almost always "break" when they are needed the most.

My stepdad got a phone in july and it works great, internet, email, im, text, keyboard and its still going. I don't know the model though, not that interested.
