This is just a rough draft of something I am writing. Not edited or revised yet, so it may seem odd to read.

?Creation is unknown to the common, not to the enlightened?
Book of the Soul-Stream ? Aidia 11-1

Nearly 419 billion years ago the universe experienced its first death. This death was unlike anything ever seen; the death had a lingering soul/conscious. The universe wanted to learn about this unknown and how it came to be, so the universe linked all souls/conscious? to the ever-flowing Soul-Stream.
The creature was resurrected on the same planet but in a different parallel universe. Instead of being on what is now Mars, the creature appeared on what is now Kaos. The universes ?soul? was intrigued and gave this creature a glimpse into the powers of the universe. The creature changed its shape to fit itself and learned what it thought to be the correct path to death. The creature gave itself a name of Deva and acquired only the power of light.
Further intrigued the universe created another creature of the same species and quickly killed it to see if the same outcome would come of the souls/conscious decisions.
The new lingering soul of Kaos was given the same opportunity to choose a shape and a power. This creature didn?t follow the others decision, this soul took a dark shape, a broader figure, with skin that changed as the creature grew. The power chosen was of hate, chaos, and self-augmentation.
The Universe quickly asserted that depending on the life of a soul would depend on the outcome of ones decisions and the outcome of the Soul-Stream journey.
The Universe used these two species of creatures as a base to further Soul-Stream travelers, but added a third creature with the attributes of the other two species, but did not give them wings or powers. This species stood broad and slim, fat and thin. The creature would rely on its own will power to fend for itself.
The Universe was intrigued to see which of the three species would dominate by its decisions. As a last gift the Universe created an appropriate gender for the creatures and added 1 more of each species so that the creatures could procreate and continue the evolution of the species.
?The Persuasion of War?
Book of the Soul-Stream - Korfen 1-1

Kaos had spent nearly 20 Billion years in a state of peace and ignorance. The Deva, Al-Gar, and Humans had never seen each other and never entered into conflict. The Universe did not understand this and began to delve into the matter. No specie left the cities in which they built on their continents. None of the specie developed boats, planes, or anything allowing for travel outside the city. The Universe was puzzled in why the Deva or Al-Gar decedents did not fly, and why the Humans only built inter-city transportation. The Universe grew impatient and against its own non-intervention rule, put a subconscious interest in travel into each of the species.

Nice, Spartan.

I do have a piece of lore written called The Beginning, which gives a brief explanation of how things began and led up to where they are. I'm sure once Damon approves it, you can find it beside The Story of Kaos.

Cool. I am writing a bunch of stuff. Once I finish the next few pages it will lead into the beginnig of the war. which I wrote the first paragraph for. I then plan on writing 3 novels, one for each faction, and maybe break those down into 3 scripts, and from there each novel into a more storylines of different heroes and folklore of Kaos.

Averon, thanks for the info.

Spartan you're an awesome writer! I'm almost jealous, but I know I've got a few talents up my sleeve. ;D

Yeah the info is much appreciated Averon. Gives me something new to look forward too. =)

Thanks, now only 499 pages left to go in book 1. lol. 500 is a nice number for a book. size 14 font. Makes it seem like you read faster, lol. Updated page and extra content tomorrow around 3pm Est.

I also like the idea of 500 pages for a book. It's just a good number. I'll be looking forward to the next 499 pages. =)

Wont that take a long time?......

I don't know about other writers, but I can only produce about 10 pages a day, if I have the free time and quiet to really work. Sometimes it can take me up to an hour just complete a paragraph.

I also work from a very detailed outline, which I probably spend more time creating than I do in writing. To get what I mean, try doing a search for the snowflake method. I don't follow his guidelines exactly, but my outlines become near 75% of a completed manuscript.

In the next few months, I'll be writing a great deal of lore for the game - in preparation for a novel. Hopefully the information will be helpful to others wanting to do the same. =)

BTW, I usually aim for 100,000 to 120,000 words. Page count can vary by formatting.

Do you have any books published? Just wondering.

Spartan
09-26-2006, 05:29 PM
No, I am only 18. I understand copyrights and stuff so most of my writing is based on the continuation of already copyrighted material, so I can't publish it unless I want to give up like $2 million. I like to write and act. Film is my passion though. REVENGE OF THE NERDS 2007 is what I would love to be on.

And before I continue this book I would like to be given writing permission from the copyright holder so you can't come back and sue me for using your ideas. Signed please. I work hard on what I do and wouldn't want to be screwed in the long run.

I change my writing agenda based on what I want to accomplish. I can write about 20 pages in a one hour class period, and that is simply free writing with no prior planning. I usually end up taking it out at home and spending another hour editing and rewriting or making whatever changes I feel would improve upon it.

If I have a specific idea or brainstorm in mind, then I free style write to begin with. Then I extract the ideas from the random thoughts and form a casual outline. I picture what I want to happen and in what order I feel would be best. It usually takes me about 4 days to get a full length short story that I am satisfied with. I have completely different methods for my poetry, lyrics, and essays. And I never put a limit on the amount of pages or words I want to achieve unless absolutely necessary. For me it's like limiting how far I can let my imagination explore, and I hate those types of limits.

If you meant our Lore author, here is his website: http://www.jagiunta.com/

I only put a limit on stuff so I don't go overboard.

Cady
09-26-2006, 06:59 PM
I only find I need limits when I'm trying not to be controversial. That's usually when I'm writing essays for English or some other class.

Spartan
09-26-2006, 07:28 PM
True, but you don't want to write a book/novel and drag it on for 2000 pages. Your reader will get bored and just not read anymore of your books.

Cady
09-26-2006, 07:32 PM
I don't think I'm at the level I need to be to even be considering writing a book at this current time. It's a future aspiration of mine, but I'm in no hurry. Limits would be useful in that type of situation, but I think I do it naturally rather than having a mind set that has a set number of words or pages.

While I don't want to discourage our fans from creating their own fan fiction, I need to point out that the final authority on Kaos War lore is Damon and only Damon. You are free to write whatever you want, but please don't take this the wrong way when I say that it is highly unlikely we will be allowing unsolicited works in the Kaos Universe to be "official".

Spartan, if you have the drive and capability to create compelling stories in other people's worlds, you can do it in you own. I recomend picking up a copy of The Art of Creative Writing (http://www.amazon.com/Art-Creative-Writing-Lajos-Egri/dp/0806502002/sr=1-2/qid=1159656092/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-2572907-3123127?ie=UTF8&s=books) by Lajos Ergi. It's a fantastic book for a starting writer to read. I also recomend reading mythology and theology books, as they can be great sources of inspiration (and nobody owns those copyrights). But most important of all is to keep writing and never stop. Good luck!

Spartan Quest
For all Nationalities
Helos is found in the Southern Regions, in a small house.

Story:
Helos (He-lose): Greetings traveller, would you like to hear a story?

Player Answers: Yes. No.

Helos (If answered No): Come back later, when you have time.

Helos (If answered Yes): Long ago, on the Parnon Plains there was a great war. The Aboden Empire invaded the Southern Extent. They met a resistance like no other, a single soldier, named Caraton. Caraton was said to have slain 1,000 of the Aboden soldiers before the Southern Extents Force (Army) came to support Caraton. After the battle the Southern Extent Council gave Caraton the title of "Hellion" (Hel-yun) for his blood drenched appearance (That can be changed to whatever title you want). It is said that the souls of the fallen soldiers of whom he killed still linger in the Parnon Plains. I can send to you the plains, but I warn you, it is an unforgiving place, the souls may come to kill you as the tried many years ago.

Player: I accept your challenge. I will come back another time.

Helos: If you accept: Off you go! If you deny: Very well, come back later when your ready.

Goal: Kill 1,000 Monsters with 10% or less HP in sequence, no potions/spells to heal. Must fight in Parnon Plains (Special Dungeon, Teleported to by Helos)

1000 monsters is a little much i think but thats a good idea and story spartan

1,000 monsters all in sequence? That might take too long, unless there are multiple at once and they are easy kills so you can hit more than one of them and take all those hit out with few swings. Otherwise, it would just take too long probably. Depends on the monster's strength.

Spartan

They would be HP weak, but attack strong.

DID YALL NOT SEE WHAT THE PRIZE WAS!!! Thats a sweet Prize for 1000 Monsters.

I am writing a book/script right now, titled 2020DE (Not the final title) placed in a world enveloped in war, and humans are about to learn of their true heritage. :), brain teaser and it should be really good. Should finish the first 5 chapters / scenes (its in script form, but will convert it into book later)
