View Full Version : An idea on how to deal with banning players.

All games contain rude people that do stupid things and most games warn these people of there actions a few times, then if they continue there missdeeds there account is banned. I think they deserve to be punished but it can be handled in a much cooler way. I would like it if instead of blocking there accounts or freezing them for a certain amount of time they would simply go to prison. Have a few prisons in the game and allow them to log in while being in jail. maybe they could lift weights to increase there strength while they serve their time. i think it would be really cool to see people in jail cells and know there real players. And maybe you could have wooden stocks in town centers to put a prisoner on display. Banning sadly has to happen in all games but i think this solves the problem and does it in a much more interesting way. just a thought.

<shrug> The legal system depends on a system of laws, a trial with a burden of proof, and appeals. The EULA often serves as a substitute for laws, but the rest of it? Not worth it, IMO.

What one person considers rude, another might consider <shudder> RP.

Ban for sexist or racist offences. Ban for exploiting. Ban for being a Darkwolf or Darkwolf wannabe.

Otherwise have a profanity filter, have FFA PvP, and learn to play.

Moloch, i dont mean punishment for in game remarks or things that petty and small. More along the lines of system abuses. Farming exploits and things that the devs really have problems with. things that unbalance the game for everyone else.

Good ideas and we have run though all the possible ways. There maybe more. This turned into a good thread with suggestions.

Hehehe... I like that. You go to visit a guy in prison, feel sorry for him, try and smuggle him some extra rations, the guards see you, you run like crap, get put into the cell next to the guy you were visiting, and chat to him for a while... Then you decide to throw off the shackles of opression, and gain the support of all the workers there... Who knows.

You could make offenders wear a banner across their chest warning others of what they have done while wearing pink tutus.
First offense, One day.
Second offense a week.
Third offense stuck in a pink tutu permanantly.

Not for nothing but it seems a waist of dev time to put added stuff into game for the enjoyment of people who don't want to play the game the way its ment to be played. Either play right or don't play at all but thats just my opinion.
