so who have you guys considered using as your publisher? SOE is a good company to help you publish the game but do not let them get there hands on developing. Microsoft has tons of money to use but will try and have the game rushed and become a clone of WoW. I think i remember you saying your not on good terms with NCsoft so there out. EA is also pretty good they have tons of money too but they will try and turn KW into a sports game. When i heard you guys were going broke i was like oh shit they need to get a publisher ans some money fast. Well good luck and if you can hold out till E3 2007 then you should be fine.

also how are the Dev's doing? in the last episode of creating kaos the situation looked pretty bleak for the Dev's, some guy went homeless for 2 weeks! and some employees have dropped out. so have things gotten better for you guys yet?

If at all possible I would stay away from SOE as they seem to buy up as many MMO's as they can for pure profit reasons and many people have said they will never again buy an SOE product and many of them are in WoW now.

But then again you may not have a choice at the same time just remember they will eventually take over the game and mold it the way they see fit it is what happened with the original SWG. A current employee that quit said he was very upset with SOE for what they are doing to their player base and was part of the reason for him leaving...

Personally I would rather wait an extended period of time for a quality game and have the original developers do it right and make it their game and not let some money hungry company with a bad rep. ultimately take it over and ruin what the original developers have worked so hard for.

In other words get a job so you can eat when you need too and pay the bills and work on the game with any free time you have, make it your own and find a quality developer that just isn't going to take you for a ride.

I can't speak for everyone but personally I would have no problem waiting...even if that other game is trying to rip off your idea...

Well, this is what we have been doing literally for the past 14-16 months, and the time has come to take our company to the next level, either through VC or Angel funding or some form of publishing deal. Some of us have already quit our 'day jobs' to focus on the company, and others, like myself, are still dealing with the 40 hour grind just to make ends meet until the day that Kaos War can put food in our bellies. We won't stop though, as this is our passion and our drive in life. A meaningful life is achieved through the pursuit of our dreams and passions.

We appreciate everyones support!

I would like to continue Robert's statement by saying that most of us do have full time jobs. I for one have a full time work in a sheet metal shop. No joke... and I usually pull 50 hour weeks ontop of living with my girlfriend AND grandmother AND having financial issues on top of that. Alot of us are in the same boat. We hate the grind and we love to make games. But you have to give it to people like Mike and Damon who sacrifice a stable life to make this game their grind. While at the moment I am not integral to the creation process, as alot of the work I can even do at the moment is complete, I still feel that I should be spending much more time working on this title.

I cannot make the full time commitment and my hat is off to people on our team like Damon and Mike that make that commitment. Damon is a real leader with real ideals and has stopped at nothing to make this title a reality. I have an enormous amount of respect for the man because of everything he has had to deal with and everything he has to deal with on a daily basis. To put it simply: Damon kicks ass. Keep on keepin on brotha.

LOL we should make this thread a KW worker what do you do :)

But yeah we are all very committed and like most of the others I have a full time job at the minute. Unfortunatly even though we are gaining much celebraty status and are getting contact from publishers, we still arent at the stage of picking and choosing :)

But trust us when we say the main priority in all this is the game and we want to get it right and obviously whoever supports us will need to know that.
